Working with Laurie Marczak, PhD (R2 Resource Consultants, WA), Endeavour Scientific is completing a meta-analysis of data from 10 years worth of Environmental Effects Monitoring Studies from metal mines across Canada. We are evaluating whether there are widespread effects downstream of mines, to determine whether current effluent discharge guidelines are sufficiently protective of the environment. The work was commissioned by the Environmental Non-Governmental Organization Caucus of the Metal Mines Effluent Regulation 10-year Review process, and funded by MEND Canada, Sustainability Resources, Ltd., and Endeavour Scientific.
