The Metis, Dene and Cree community of Fort McKay is in the heart of the Athabasca Oil Sands region. Endeavour Scientific has worked with the Fort McKay Sustainability Department since 2013 on government relations files that affect the community’s ability to consult on policy initiatives, and to form industry relations. These files include

  • the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring Program

  • Terrestrial Environmental Effects Monitoring Committee of the Wood Buffalo Environmental Association

  • crown-led consultation on the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan, and the Aboriginal Consultation Policy

Endeavour has also assisted with various aspects of establishing community-based monitoring programs.
